NM at the Wakefield Business Awards 2025

The We Are Wakefield Business Awards 2025 gave us a brilliant evening celebrating the talent and creativity that makes Wakefield such a vibrant business community. It is always a highlight in the local calendar and a great opportunity to connect with other organisations across the district. 

This year’s awards were particularly special for us. We were absolutely thrilled to come away with not just one but two Highly Commended awards. These achievements reflect the ongoing commitment, hard work and enthusiasm that every single member of our team brings to the agency each day. 

Highly Commended: Team of the Year

Being named Highly Commended Team of the Year was a really meaningful moment for us. Teamwork is something we really value, so seeing it recognised on such a respected platform was really rewarding. This award felt like an affirmation of the way our team supports each other, pushes each other creatively and collaborates to give clients the best possible experience. 

Our culture has always been rooted in openness, honesty and looking after one another. Reflecting on the evening, our Managing Director Chris Elliott shared how much the awards and the wider We Are Wakefield community continue to mean to us: 

“We’ve been involved with We Are Wakefield for a number of years now and always enjoy the awards ceremony. We’ve won a few over the years and naturally it was a bit disappointing to not win this year, but all the nominees are really good businesses and we are still happy to have been nominated and to have been Highly Commended in our categories. 

We Are Wakefield go from strength to strength every year and we are very proud to be a member of such a great organisation and look forward to supporting them in 2026”. 

Highly Commended: Apprentice of the Year for Aalia

We were thrilled to see Aalia named Highly Commended Apprentice of the Year. The timing could not have been better, as she had found out earlier the very same day that she had achieved a distinction in her marketing apprenticeship. It was a brilliant double celebration and a moment she should be incredibly proud of. 

Aalia has been a positive presence in the team, bringing enthusiasm, fresh ideas and a real eagerness to learn. Apprenticeships are an important part of our industry and it has been fantastic to support her development and watch her confidence grow! 

Building on Last Year’s Success

Our recognition this year follows on from winning Digital Creative Business of the Year in 2024 which was also a really proud moment for the team and reflected the continued growth in our creative and digital capabilities. It showed how much hard work had gone into developing our services and strengthening the results we deliver for clients. 

It has been brilliant to see that momentum carry through into 2025. The consistency of these achievements gives us even more confidence in the direction we are heading as an agency and reassures clients that they are working with a team that is genuinely committed to high standards. It also motivates us to keep pushing our ideas, our creativity and the level of service we offer across every project.

These awards have given us a real boost as we look ahead to 2026. They have reminded us how far we have come as a team and how much potential there is for the year ahead. We are already planning new ideas, exploring fresh opportunities and looking at ways we can continue to evolve our services to better support our clients. It feels like an exciting time for Northern Media and we’re ready to build on the momentum from this year. There is plenty to look forward to and we cannot wait to see what 2026 brings!
