Cycle Wakefield – Promoting Cycling in the Wakefield District
In the heart of West Yorkshire, a thriving community of Wakefield cycling enthusiasts and Wakefield Council came together with a vision: to create a central hub dedicated to all things cycling across the region.
What We Did
Working closely with Wakefield Council and local cycling groups, we embarked on a creative journey with the inception of several logo concepts, each intended to lend its unique essence to the overarching campaign and serve as the foundation for the forthcoming website.
With the essential elements in place, we set out to construct the digital home for Cycle Wakefield. Their launch date was set during National Bike Week, scheduled from June 6th to June 12th, to coincide with an extensive social media campaign to support the launch.
The new website is a comprehensive portal of cycling information, offering a wealth of resources, including advice, trail insights, route recommendations, tips, educational content, and much more.
The website boasts interactive maps, spotlighting beloved cycling routes and trails, along with an up to date directory of local events, clubs, and organisations. A dedicated section on cycling safety provides riders of all ages and abilities with indispensable tips and guidelines.
Additionally, the website caters to those interested in cycling education and training, offering insights into bike maintenance, gear, and accessories.
Cllr Mohammad Ayub, the Council’s esteemed Cycling Champion, tasked with raising awareness of and providing support to cycling initiatives and organisations throughout the Wakefield district commented, “We aspire that the new website will inspire more people to embrace cycling and embark on adventures along our region’s splendid routes and trails. Cycling is a fantastic way to stay active, reconnect with nature, and savour the great outdoors, and we take pride in supporting and promoting this healthy, enjoyable, and eco-conscious activity.”
